Will this last?

Last updated on Oct 27, 2024

The best relationships are built on trust, and trust is built on honesty. And if we're going to have a long-term relationship with you, then honesty is non-negotiable.

The Cozy Birds platform is relatively new, as we launched on the 13th of October, 2024 (one of our most frequently asked questions). So, the question of whether this will last is one that needs to be addressed.

In order for this to last, it needs to be sustainable. And, in order to be sustainable, we need to make money. Hence, we will now answer your most asked question: How do we make money, and how long will this last?

So, how do we make money? The key is in what happens behind the scenes.

Some players buy birds, and other players buy eggs. We make sure that every egg sold was laid by a bird belonging to or bought by another player. When you sell your laid eggs to us, we buy each egg from you for 1 coin each. But if you go to the egg market on your dashboard, you can see that we resell each egg for a lot more.

Does it mean we are able to resell every single egg your birds lay to other players?

No. And what's interesting is we don't really need to in order to be profitable. Take the Flippy bird (which is the smallest bird), for instance. You sell Flippy bird eggs to us for 1 coin each. But we resell them for 4,000 coins each, making a 4,000x profit. Not to mention the profits on the bigger birds. This huge margin helps cover for the eggs we don't sell.

This is also the reason we don't let you put the eggs your birds lay directly into your Hatchery. It's so we get a chance to earn from reselling said eggs to other players at a very healthy profit margin.

So, to recap, some users buy birds and those birds lay eggs, and when they sell the eggs to us for cheap, we resell those eggs to other players. Then those players' eggs hatch into birds which begin to lay eggs, which they sell to us and which we then resell, and on and on it goes, all while we make money from this buying and reselling as a middleman. Thus creating a balanced and self-sustaining ecosystem.

Also, Cozy birds are virtual birds, and we don’t claim to have live birds and eggs on some farm somewhere. They are virtual birds, and at the end of the day, it’s simply a game, to play for your relaxation and enjoyment. And if you make a little money playing, then all the better.

We worked hard on this for almost a year before launching, and we're not looking to throw all of that hard work away. Every change and update we make is to make the game sustainable, and we're looking at working on this for a very long time to come, hopefully for a few years, and we intend to walk that journey with you, one day at a time, and someday confirm to you that your faith in us wasn't misplaced.

Thank you for playing our game.
