Strike System

Users will receive a strike for certain violations of the Content Policy. Users will be notified about the strike, which term was violated, and which piece of content was in violation. All strikes can be appealed to a Minds Jury. Individual strikes will expire after 90 days. The following violations will result in a strike: Untagged NSFW Post (three strikes required for each individual NSFW category) - Strike 1 = Warning - Strike 2 = 2nd Warning - Strike 3 = Full channel marked with NSFW category Harassment and Spam - Strike 1 = Warning - Strike 2 = 2nd Warning - Strike 3 = Ban Spam may result in an immediate ban if determined to be malicious or by use of a bot. IMMEDIATE BAN OFFENSE Users will be immediately banned for certain violations of the Content Policy. Users will be notified about the ban and which term was violated, but they will not be able to see the content that was in violation as it will have to be removed from Minds. Appeals on immediate bans will be reviewed by the Minds admins and not a jury due to the nature of the content. - Illegal (terrorism, pedophilia, extortion, fraud, revenge porn, sex trafficking) - Personal and confidential information (doxing) - Malware - Token manipulation - Impersonation - Incites a true threat of violence BOOST POLICY Boost is the advertising network on Minds. Users may exchange Minds Tokens to “Boost” their content and receive views from the network. Users may not Boost any content that is in violation of our Content Policy. Additionally, users may not Boost content that: - Appeals on a moderation decision - Exceeds Boost rate limits; - Is a Help & Support request; - Is selling Minds Tokens; - Contains content from a banned user - On-Chain payment failed - Original post has been removed If you would like to appeal a Boost rejection, you may do so by emailing info@minds.com with the post in question and the reasons for why you believe it should be accepted.

Boost Content Policy

The Minds Content Policy establishes a highly permissive standard based on the First Amendment of the United States. Boosts have a separate, stricter policy that aims to balance our goals of enabling freedom of expression, and also giving the community control over the content they see and engage with. To manage that balance, unlike regular Newsfeed posts, all Boosts go through a content review process. Some categories of content are ineligible for Boosting (see below for the full list). But the primary role of the Boost review process is to ensure that Boosted posts with controversial or disturbing content reach people who have opted into seeing that sort of content. We are continually evaluating our definition of "controversial" and want it to be a reflection of the community's standards, the same way people can broadly agree on what content is "NSFW." We want the Minds community to have the content experience that they want, with the control to opt into seeing controversial content in their feeds. What's controversial? Controversial content is text, media, or links of a more spicy nature on Minds, including content that's politically contentious or otherwise likely to be objectionable to a family-friendly audience. This includes username and avatar, even if the content itself is otherwise safe. Help us improve this definition. Categories of content that are ineligible for Boosting - Against ToS or Content Policy - Against Stripe Policy (for cash boosts) - Appeals a moderation decision - Help & Support request - Selling Minds Tokens - Contains content from a banned user - Explicit - Maliciously targets users If you would like to appeal a Boost rejection, you may do so by making a support ticket here with the post in question and the reasons why you believe the Boost should be accepted.

Managing a group

How to create a group 1. Navigate to Groups > Create a Group (Or click this link) 2. Choose a Name of your group 3. Choose Profile Picture for your group 4. Choose a Banner for your group 5. Write a description of your group 6. Choose whether it's Open or Closed 7. Finalize the group using Create Group button Group Options Top bar presents multiple options for the group settings and other things. In three dot menu: 1. You can decide to Boost group (promote) your grup 2. Disable Boosts from being shown in your group 3. Enable / Disable moderation - Enabling moderation will put every post made by an average user into approval queue 4. Make Public / Open 5. Enable / Disable notifications (an old setting that does not work at this moment) 6. Report Group - If your find group does illegal activities, report it 7. Delete Group if you don't want to manage it anymore 8. Additionally, clicking cogwheel allows you to edit group information. What are open and closed groups? - Open groups are groups that can by joined by any user, as long as they aren't banned from a group. - Closed groups are groups, that users needs to be invited into, or they need to request to join. Inviting new members 1. Navigate to the Members tab in your group 2. Click Invite 3. Choose username to invite 4. Send the invitation Approving new members Members can also request to join your group. To approve members: 1. Go to Review 2. Click Requests 3. Choose to Accept or Reject on each user What are types of permissions in groups? Within every group there are four types of users, listed in order of least to most privileged: members, moderators, administrators (admin), and owners. - Members of a group may browse the group and interact with its posts, chat, and users. - Moderators inherit all Member privileges, plus the ability to accept or reject posts upon post submission, the ability to ban/invite users, and pin/unpin posts, and the ability to remove posts. - Admin inherit all Moderator privileges, plus the ability to change the group's settings and grant/remove admin/moderator privileges to another user. - Owners inherit all Admin privileges plus the ability to delete the group. Managing group roles To manage users navigate to the Members section. There, you can click on a member, and in three dot menu decide: 1. To remove them from the group 2. Make an owner 3. Make a moderator Approving posts If you have moderated group, you will need to approve posts. To approve posts: 1. Go to Review 2. Click Posts 3. Choose to Accept or Reject on each post. You can also comment on them and react to them while they are on this state. Just click timestamp, and open the post.
