ERA Wallet Device Settings

ERA Wallet provides a comprehensive set of device settings that allow you to manage updates, security, recovery, display behavior, and system information.

💡 These instructions assume that at least one wallet is already set up on the device.

Accessing Device Settings

  1. Unlock your device.

  2. On the wallet list (main screen), press the hamburger menu in the top-left corner.

  3. This opens the Device Settings menu.

Settings Overview

Updates

Manage software updates for the device. You can update:

  • Main Firmware — controls wallet management and core device functionality

  • Bootloader — responsible for securely updating and verifying the main firmware

  • EraLens — a database of smart contracts and APIs used for transaction parsing and decoding

Keeping all components up to date ensures security, compatibility, and correct transaction interpretation.

Recovery Manager

Used to manage ERA Recovery Cards. Available options:

  • Read Seed — view the recovery seed after entering the card PIN

  • Format — permanently erase an ERA Recovery Card

  • Change PIN — update the PIN of an ERA Recovery Card

  • Clone — duplicate a recovery card onto an empty ERA Recovery Card

⚠️ Always use the correct PIN. After 16 incorrect attempts, the card is permanently locked and cannot be recovered.

Display

Manage screen behavior and power consumption:

  • Front Light — adjust brightness for use in low-light environments

  • Auto-Lock Time — set how long the device stays unlocked when inactive

  • Auto Power-Off Time — define when the device fully powers off

🔋 Power tips: Higher brightness increases power consumption. Shorter auto-lock and auto power-off times reduce idle usage. When powered off, the device is in its lowest power consumption state.

Vibration

Enable or disable vibration feedback for device interactions.

Device Password

Change the master password used to unlock the ERA Wallet.

Dynamic PIN

The Dynamic PIN feature enhances security by scrambling the PIN keypad each time you enter your PIN. This prevents attackers from learning your PIN by observing keypad positions during entry.

Factory Reset

Permanently erases the device. To perform a factory reset:

  1. Select Factory Reset.

  2. Long-press the Confirm button for 5 seconds.

This will delete all wallets, remove all recovery data and settings, and leave no trace of stored information. Use this option if you are returning the device, giving it to someone else, or no longer intend to use it.

⚠️ This action is irreversible. Make sure you have a valid backup before proceeding.
