Why Is The App Calling A Different Number?

Last updated on May 06, 2025

Have you ever noticed that the number displayed when you make a call isn’t the one you dialed? This is due to what’s known as an Access Number.

When you use SpoofCard to make a call, your connection is routed through one of our Access Numbers. These numbers play a critical role in protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your calls. Acting as an intermediary, the Access Number links your verified call to our carriers and then securely routes it to the recipient.

How Access Numbers Work

On our website, you’ll find a drop-down list of available Access Numbers. Once you enter the number you wish to call and the number you want to display, you'll be prompted to dial the designated Access Number and Access Code. It’s important to enter these details exactly as provided so that the call can connect properly.

For an even smoother experience, our mobile app automatically handles this process for you. After you input the number you want to call and tap the call button, the app will select an Access Number in the background to securely route your call. This means you may see a different number than the one you dialed, but rest assured, the Access Number is doing its job to protect your privacy.

Why Does This Matter?

Access Numbers are a vital part of our system, ensuring that your calls are routed securely and that your personal number remains private. By using Access Numbers, SpoofCard helps safeguard your information while still allowing you to make calls with the number you choose to display.
