Boost

What is boost? Boost is the in-house ad network on Minds, a way for you to gain views on your content from the network in exchange for Minds tokens or USD. It is secure, anti-surveillance. Multiple different types of Boost exist: - Newsfeed - Newsfeed boosted posts are every twelfth post in the Newsfeed - Sidebar - Sidebar boosted posts run along the right column of the Newsfeed - Channel - Chanel boosts run along the right column of the Newsfeed How do I Boost a post? To boost a post on Minds, follow these steps: - Go to the post you want to boost. - Click the boost button if it’s your post, or the three-dot menu icon on the top right corner of the post and click on "Boost Post". - Choose the amount you want to boost for, and the number of days you want the boost to run. - Click on "Boost Post" to confirm and start the boost. How do I Boost a channel? To boost your channel, follow these steps: - Navigate to your channel - On your channel page, click on the "Boost" button located in the top right corner, next to the Edit Profile button. - Choose the amount you want to boost for, and the number of days you want the boost to run. - Click on "Boost Post" to confirm and start the boost. How can I buy Boost? You can buy Boost with Minds tokens or cash. How much does Boost cost? Boost does not have an exact price, but you can bid on your boosts. The bidding system works by allowing advertisers to set a maximum bid amount for each Boost, and the Boost is then promoted to users based on the bid amount. What are views? Views are the number of times your content has been displayed to other users. The views are counted as the Boost crosses another community members’ screen. What are Boost categories? We have two boost categories, Safe and Controversial. We have established them, for better targeting of boosts for users. Who will see my Boosts? Your Boosts will be shown to the people, who have opted in to see the Boosts from the given category. Why can’t I edit or delete my post? While a post is being promoted, we don’t allow it to be edited. If you need to take any action on your post, you can wait until the promotion period ends. Can I have more than one active Boosts? You can have as many Boosts active as you want, you don’t have to wait for one to finish before starting another. Where is my Boost going to be displayed? We allow two different places for Boosts. Feed Boosts, which are in the Boost rotator on top of your feed, and then every 6th post in the feed. The channel boosts may also appear in the recommended channels section in Newsfeed. Sidebar boosts are profile boosts that are shown in sidebars. How are Boosts moderated? Boosts are currently reviewed by our moderation team. We would like to eventually empower the community to moderate boosts via Jury. How long does it take for Boosts to be approved? They should be approved within an hour, but sometimes a delay of up to a day can happen. How will I know that my Boost has been approved? You will get a notification and an email about your boost starting. Alternatively you can look into your boost console, here. Why was my Boost rejected? We have multiple rejection reasons: - Wrong audience: This happens when you submit the boost into the safe category, but it should be in the controversial boost category. - Against Minds Boost policy: The boost is against our boost policy - Against Stripe terms of service: For cash boosts, we need to uphold Stripes’ terms of service - Payment failed: The payment has failed - Reported: The boost has been approved and running, but it has been reported by the userbase. Does Minds store my credit card information? No, Minds does not store your credit card information. The credit card information is stored at Stripe, the payment provider we’re using. Can I ask for a refund? No, approved boosts are non-refundable. However, if your boost has not yet been approved, you can cancel it. What counts as a view? A view is defined by a post passing through the center of someone's screen. How do I track the status of my Boost? Status of the boosts can be seen in the Boost console. Can I hide boosted content? Yes! If you are a Plus member, you can disable boosted content. To disable boosts as Minds+ user, you can navigate to Settings > Account > Boost, and locate “View boosted content” option (alternativelly, go here).

Boost Partner Program

What is the Boost Partner Program? The Boost Partner Program is a revenue sharing program that allows content creators to earn a share of the revenue generated from Boosts served on their channel pages and activity post pages. How does the Boost Partner Program work? Boosts can now appear on channel pages and individual activity post pages. If Boosts appear on your activity posts or channel page, you'll earn 50% of the revenue – both tokens and cash – from Boost views that were served. This additional inventory creates more opportunities for Boosts to appear, increasing the number of views Boost buyers get for their tokens and dollars. Who is eligible for the Boost Partner Program? The Boost Partner Program is available to all Minds channels that are in good standing and verified as human (via phone number or mobile app human detector). Cash payouts are subject to the same restrictions as Minds+ earnings: You must have accrued a minimum of $100 in total earnings, have connected a bank account, and be a Minds+ subscriber to get paid out. Can I opt out of the Boost Partner Program? If you'd prefer that Boosts do not appear on your pages, you can easily opt out of the program in your Boost settings to prevent Boosts from serving on pages they own. What are the consequences of abusing the Boost Partner Program? Minds monitors all activity closely for fraud to ensure that views are authentic and organic. If someone is found to have abused the system, they will lose their eligibility for the Boost Partner Program.

Minds+

What is Minds+? Minds+ is a subscription-based service that allows users to access exclusive content created by independent creators. Users can also upload their own content and earn revenue based on its popularity and engagement. Minds+ offers features such as unlimited HD video up to 95 minutes in duration, priority support, a verified channel badge, and the ability to hide boosted content. How do I join Minds+? You can join Minds+ by either going to a Minds+ page or by unlocking any Minds+ post. How much does Minds+ cost? Minds+ costs $7 a month or $60 a year. Why can’t I post links into Minds+? We are only allowing original content to Minds+, and links are not considered to be original content. How do I get a verification badge? To get a verification badge, you need to have Minds+ (or Minds Pro) active, and create a request at the Minds+ site. What is Minds+ needed for? Minds+ is necessary for creators to receive payouts for their content and to move their earned tokens on-chain. What benefits come with a Minds+ membership? Minds+ grants access to exclusive videos, blogs, and photos from independent creators, enabling users to support the creators financially. Moreover, Minds+ members can upload unlimited HD videos up to 95 minutes long. They can also stand out with a distinctive badge on their channel and verify their digital identity, affirming their authenticity. Furthermore, they can keep their feeds ad-free by hiding all boosted content. How do I cancel my Minds+ membership? To cancel a Minds+ membership, navigate to Settings > Payments > Recurring payments (here). From there, navigate to the plus payment and you can click the "Cancel" button next to your current subscription. If you cancel during a billing cycle, you will retain your benefits until the end of that cycle. Will my Minds+ membership automatically renew? Yes, by default, Minds+ memberships will automatically renew on a monthly basis. However, you can cancel (see the answer above). Can I still use Minds if I don't have a Minds+ membership? Yes, you can still use Minds without a Minds+ membership. However, a Minds+ membership provides additional benefits, such as access to premium content and the ability to earn revenue from content creation. What payment methods are accepted for Minds+? Minds+ accepts several payment methods, including credit/debit cards and tokens. If you pay for your membership in tokens, you will only be eligible to be paid out in tokens. If you pay in cash, you are eligible to be paid out in cash or tokens. Minds+ Cancellation policy Section 14 of the Minds Terms of Service: 1. Minds offers optional paid services such as Minds Tokens, hosting, subscriptions, monetization, additional storage, bandwidth, Minds Plus, video transcoding, and Boost (any such services, an “Upgrade”). By accessing an Upgrade you agree to pay Minds the one time, monthly or annual subscription fees indicated for that service. Payments will be charged on a pre-pay basis on the day you sign up for an Upgrade and will cover the use of that service for a monthly or annual subscription period as indicated. a. Automatic Renewal: Unless you notify Minds before the beginning of the applicable subscription period that you want to cancel, your subscription or service will automatically renew, and you authorize us to collect the then-applicable annual or monthly subscription fee for such Upgrade (as well as any taxes) using any credit card or other payment mechanism we have on record for you. What is Minds Pro? Minds Pro is a premium subscription plan that gives you access to all the features of Minds+, as well as additional benefits like earning money through pageviews, having a separate Pro page, and uploading videos up to 60 minutes in length, 4 GB in size, and 1080p in resolution. How do I join Minds Pro? To join Minds Pro, go to the Minds Pro page and choose a subscription plan. You can pay monthly or yearly. How much does Minds Pro cost? Minds Pro costs $50 a month or $480 a year. What is a Pro page? A Pro page is a separate page on Minds where you can showcase your content. This is a great way to build your brand and connect with your audience. What are the video and image upload limits for Minds Pro? With Minds Pro, you can upload videos up to 60 minutes in length, 4 GB in size, and 1080p in resolution. This allows you to create high-quality content and share it with your followers. Can I still access Minds+ features with Minds Pro? Yes, Minds Pro includes all the features of Minds+, so you can still access the Minds+ content and features. Supermind

General What is a Supermind? Want to stand out from the crowd and get your questions answered? A Supermind lets you attach a paid offer to your public posts, and tag a specific creator for a reply. When the creator replies, they earn the offer – it's win-win. How soon will I get a reply? Creators have up to 7 days to reply. If they don't reply within that time, the offer is automatically expired and your offer is refunded. Am I guaranteed a reply? No. Creators choose which offers to reply to. They can set their own custom minimum amounts to indicate which offers they'll consider. What happens if I don't get a reply? If your offer is declined or expired, your offer is refunded to you. Your post remains public, but will lose the Supermind labeling. What if I don't like the reply? The content of a Supermind reply is up to the creator. While Minds ensures you either get a reply or get a refund, Minds does not guarantee you'll love the reply. Who can receive offers? Everyone can! While we use the language of "creators" and "fans," the truth is that everyone can be both. Everyone is ready to receive token Supermind offers automatically. In order to receive cash Supermind offers, you'll just need to connect your Minds channel to a bank account. How to How do I send a Supermind? You can start a Supermind from one of three places: 1. When viewing any post in your feeds, click the Supermind icon (sparkly lightbulb) in the activities bar at the bottom of a post. 2. When viewing any post from a post page, click the large Supermind button above the comments. 3. When viewing a channel page, click the large Supermind button in the header. How do I receive a Supermind? Other people send you Supermind offers to support you and to get replies from you. Let your fans know that you're open to Supermind offers, and give them ideas for the types of questions and prompts you'd like to respond to. How do I connect my bank account? You can connect your bank account with Minds in the Wallet settings screen, under Cash. How do I prevent offers that are too low? In your payments settings for Supermind, you can specify minimum offer amounts. Setting higher minimum offers means that people won't be able to send you offers for less than your minimum. If you don't plan to respond to offers under a certain amount, we recommend increasing your minimums to set appropriate expectations with people sending you offers. How can I get people to send me more offers? To start, let people know what kind of offers you're interested in replying to. The more people see you replying to Supermind offers, the more they'll know that Supermind is an effective way to get your replies. Share a link to your Minds channel from other social channels and let people know you're accessible. Other Questions Do I get charged right away? When making token offers, your token balance will be deducted at the same time you send the offer. When making cash offers, a credit card hold will be made for the amount of your offer. When the target accepts your offer and replies, the card hold will be charged. If the target declines your offer, the hold will be released and no charge will take place. Can I get a refund? Any Supermind offer that is declined or expired will automatically be refunded to you. For Supermind offers that are accepted, because of the service nature of Supermind, we're unable to offer refunds. When will I receive my payment? When accepting token offers, the tokens will be deposited to your wallet immediately upon accepting and replying to the offer. For cash offers, payouts are processed monthly on the 28th day of the month, on a two-day rolling basis. What are the fees associated with Supermind? Unlike other platforms that take a 30% cut of similar monetization products, Minds charges just a 15% application fee. This application fee covers payment processor fees (Stripe), Minds' fee, and any referral fees from the Minds referral program. Who owns the copyright? Copyright follows the same rules for any other content published to Minds – you retain ownership of the content you create, even for Supermind replies. Why can't a Supermind be deleted? We don't currently support deletion of Supermind posts, either the initial offers or the replies. This limitation prevents abuse of offers and replies. Is NSFW allowed? Supermind is currently not compatible with NSFW content. We are exploring options to potentially allow NSFW content in the future, but the current state of payment processors makes this challenging. How do I deal with harassment through Supermind offers? Supermind content is subject to the same harassment content policy that governs other content on MInds. If you believe incoming Supermind offers are in violation of this policy, you can report the content directly from the Supermind console inbox (via the […] menu in the top-right corner of the offer post). And if offers are not in violation but ARE unwanted, you can also block individual users from sending you Supermind offers in the same menu.

Rewards

We want everyone to get rewarded for the value they contribute to Minds. The token rewards system automatically distributes 10,000 MINDS tokens to the community on a daily basis, rewarding three categories of contribution. No matter what time of Minds user you are, you can find ways to contribute and earn. Reward types FAQ Are all posts eligible for engagement rewards? No, there are some posts which are not able to earn engagement rewards. Posts that are created in groups, and posts which are re-minds or quote posts are not eligible for engagement rewards. This means that upvotes on these posts are not counted in your daily engagement score. These exceptions are made to deal with specific patterns of reward system abuse. Do downvotes count? No, downvotes are not currently part of the engagement rewards calculation. We did experiment briefly with using downvotes as a negative point in calculating rewards, but found that (1) it didn't significantly change the rewards distribution, (2) it did result in an increase in retaliatory downvoting, and (3) some members expressed that they downvoted less often because, while they wanted they disagree, they didn't want to hurt people's rewards earning potential because of disagreement. Supported regions Our cash rewards program is facilitated by a third party service called Stripe, which unfortunately is not supported in every country. If you're outside the US or Europe, and you're unable to sign on to our rewards program, it may be worth checking this list to see if your country is supported.

Minds Token

What is Minds Token? Minds Token is a cryptocurrency designed to support the Minds social network. It is a utility token that can be used to boost posts, access premium content, and purchase goods and services on the platform. How can I acquire Minds Token? You can acquire Minds Token by purchasing it on various cryptocurrency exchanges or by earning it through engagement on the Minds platform. The tokens can be earned by earning upvotes on your non-group original posts (not quote posts). What can I use Minds Token for? Minds Token can be used for a variety of purposes on the Minds platform, including boosting posts to increase their visibility, accessing premium content created by other users, and purchasing goods and services on the platform. How do I use Minds Token to boost my posts? To boost your posts using Minds Token, simply navigate to the post you want to boost and click the "Boost" button. From there, you can choose the amount of Minds Token you want to spend on boosting your post and select the duration of the boost. Boosted posts are displayed prominently in users' feeds for the duration of the boost. How is the value of Minds Token determined? The value of Minds Token is determined by market forces, similar to other cryptocurrencies. The price of Minds Token is influenced by supply and demand, as well as a variety of other factors such as market sentiment, industry trends, and regulatory developments. How do I withdraw Minds Tokens? You can withdraw Minds Tokens to your ERC-20 compatible wallet by going to the “Wallet” tab on your Minds account, clicking on the “Send” button, entering the wallet address, and specifying the amount you want to withdraw. A transaction fee may apply. What are on-chain and off-chain Minds Tokens? On-chain Minds Tokens are stored on the Ethereum blockchain, while off-chain Minds Tokens are stored in your Minds account. On-chain tokens can be transferred to any Ethereum address, while off-chain tokens can only be transferred within the Minds platform. A deeper description follows: - On-Chain transactions are stored on the distributed blockchain, which provides transparency, auditability, and more autonomy because it is a distributed database and not controlled by a a centralized authority. Because On-Chain tokens are stored in your wallet on the Ethereum network, you will incur fees when transacting with them. For example, paying for a boost On-Chain will result in being charged for the normal price of the boost in tokens, plus a small amount of ETH determined by the network. - Off-Chain transactions are stored centrally on Minds servers. An Off-Chain token represents a one to one reservation for an On-Chain. While these transactions do not carry fees, they do not provide the benefits of a distributed database. Can I convert off-chain Minds Tokens to on-chain tokens? Yes, you can convert off-chain Minds Tokens to on-chain tokens by withdrawing them to an ERC-20 compatible wallet. Can I convert on-chain Minds Tokens to off-chain tokens? No, you cannot move tokens from on-chain to off-chain. What is my Token Balance? You can see your token balance in your wallet. Hovering the total amount shows a breakdown of on-chain and off-chain tokens.
